It seems that the Pogues can’t stay out of trouble for too long. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Netflix recently released the trailer for the third season of Outer Banks. The new season is set to premiere on February 23rd on the streaming platform.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the new season will have the underdog clique realizing that their peaceful life in the newfound desert paradise, which they call Poguelandia, won’t be forever. A coveted golden idol puts them back on the treasure hunt, but they find themselves again running from Ward, played by Charles Esten (Nashville, Tell Me Your Secrets), and Rafe played by Drew Starkey (Hellraiser, Embattled); but trouble seems to be brewing between the Cameron father and son duo.
The cast of season three also includes Chase Stokes (Tell Me Your Secrets, Dr. Bird’s Advice for Sad Poets) as John B. Routledge; Madison Bailey (Supercool, Discarded Things) plays Kiara Carrera; Madelyn Cline (Glass Onion, This Is the Night) stars as Sarah Cameron, Ruby Pankow (Space Waves, Uncharted) will play JJ Maybank; Austin North (I Didn’t Do It, All Night) will be starring as Topper Thornton, Sarah’s ex-boyfriend; Andy McQueen (Coroner, Station Eleven) as Caribbean crime kingpin Carlos Singh; Charles Halford (The Nameless Days, Delicate State) plays Big John, John’s father; Jonathan Daviss (Do Revenge, Age of Summer) stars as Pope Heyward; and Carlacia Grants (Greenleaf, Game of Silence) will star as Cleo.
The series was created by siblings Josh (Citizen, Blood & Oil) and Jonas Pate (Aquarius, Believe), and Shannon Burke (Kygo feat. Donna Summer: Hot Stuff, Abandon). The trio also serve as executive producers alongside Tim Iacofano (Echo 3, Jessica Jones).
Outer Banks follows a group of teenagers from the wrong side of the tracks as they stumble upon a treasure map that unearths a long-buried secret. The show’s third season might be more violent than previous seasons but is also set to include a surprising romance between some members of the friend group. It also seems this new season will include a long-awaited reunion that has been teased since the end of season two.
Season three of Outer Banks is set to premiere on February 23 only on Netflix. The two previous seasons of the show are available on the streaming platform. Don’t forget to watch the trailer for the new season below.
