

Shonda Rimes excites fans yet again with another series release The Residence. From the trailer released on youtube, we see yet another show added to the Shondaland universe. The series draws fans in with the synopsis of “132 rooms. 157 suspects. 1 dead body. 1 wildly eccentric detective. 1 disastrous State Dinner. The Residence, a new series from Shondaland, is a screwball whodunnit set in the upstairs, downstairs, and backstairs of the White House, among the eclectic staff of the world’s most famous mansion”. This series is set to be action packed as it takes place in the white house with a murder mystery plot. We follow the characters who are staffed full time in the White House. Hosting a state dinner multiple political figures show up for a gathering. As the staff prepare for A-Lister event. After a more quiet evening, suddenly a murder breaks out and the night quickly turns into a “whodunnit” situation. We then meet Uzo Aduba (Orange Is The New Black) playing Cordelia Cupp. To solve the case, Aduba is called to the White House to investigate the guests and staff. To unravel the murder Aduba must take on the challenge and investigate all 157 suspects, following the search for evidence in 132 rooms.
The series has quite a cast to follow up with their plot. More stars expected to appear on the screen are Edwina Finley (If Loving You Is Wrong) playing Sheila Cannon, Molly Griggs (Before I Go) playing Lilly Schumacher, and Randall Park (Fresh Off The Boat) playing Edwin Park. Following up with casting we’ll also see the Executive Producers Shonda Rimes (Bridgerton), Betsy Beers (Grey’s Anatomy), and Paul Willam Davies (For The People).
