Netflix Releases ‘Selena: The Series’ Premiere Date and Trailer

The biographical drama about Selena Quintanilla will premiere on December 4th, according to Deadline. Selena: The Series stars Christian Serratos (The Walking Dead) as Selena.

Netflix’s Lantinx social media arm Con Todo made the announcement and released the teaser trailer with poster art.

The series is a coming-of-age story about Tejano music star Selena. As she tries to follow her dreams, she deals with emotional decisions regarding life and her family.

Along with Serratos, the series stars Ricardo Chavira (Desperate Housewives) as Abraham Quintanilla, and Gabriel Chavarria (East Los High) as Selena’s brother AB. Julio Macias (On My Block), Jesse Posey (Killer Party), Hunter Reese Peña (Morning Ritual), and Carlos Alfredo, Jr. (Mutt and Chopps) are also set as series regulars. Juan Martinez (Home Run), Daniela Estrada (Exatlón Colombia) and Paul Rodriguez, Jr. (Vicious Circle) will recur on the show.

Moisés Zamora (Star) is set to serve as writer and executive producer. Other executive producer include Jaime Dávila (Camelia La Texana), Rico Martinez (Oh, You pretty Things!), Suzette Quintanilla and Simran A. Singh (Where Hope Grows). The production company is Campanario Entertainment (Mexican Dynasties, Red Band Society). Part one will consist of six one-hour episodes and will be directed by Hiromi Kamata (Dragonball Evolution).
