The wait is finally over, Ryan Murphy’s (The Watcher, Love Story) anthology series Monster has released some first look images and a release date for its fourth season. In just one month we will see the disturbing story of Lizzie Borden.
For those who don’t know, Monster is a series that focuses on some of America’s depraved and sick individuals. The series erupted in viewership with the first season being about Jeffery Dahmer. With every new season it would tell a story about another vile person such as Ed Gain and Lyle and Eric Menendez. For the fourth season we will get a glimpse into the notorious Lizzie Borden, a woman who was tried and acquitted for the axe murders of her father and stepmother in Fall River, Massachusetts in 1892. She would go down in history as the first female killer.
According to Deadline, this is the official logline for the new season: “When the repressed daughter of a wealthy New England family and her rebellious maid find themselves trapped in a house built on humiliation and cruelty, they escape into a fantasy of sex, power, and revenge. The gruesome unsolved murders that follow don’t just shock the world—they give birth to an icon who refuses to live imprisoned in a cage, choosing instead to forge her own legend: shocking, monstrous, and gloriously free.”
The cast consists of Ella Beatty (Act One, If I Had Legs I’d Kick You), Charlie Hunnam (12 Parsecs, The Search for the Silver Lining), Rebecca Hall (The End of It, The Man I Love), Vicky Krieps (Diamond, Father Mother Sister Brother), Billie Lourd (American Horror Story, That Friend), Jessica Barden (Becoming Victoria Wood, Dune: Prophecy), and Sarah Paulson (All’s Fair, The Bear).
The series is set to premiere on September 17, 2026. In the meantime, you can watch the previous seasons of Monster on Netflix while you wait. The remainder of the photos are below.
