Netflix Releases an Official ‘Gilmore Girls’ Website

The Netflix Gilmore Girls revival is just a short 50 days away.

Not that anyone is counting or anything.

In honor of the Gilmore Girls’ 16th anniversary on October 5, Netflix released an official Stars Hollow website.  The website obviously is intended to promote the upcoming revival on Netflix, but currently most of the content is from the series which ended in 2007.

To explain why there isn’t any new content just yet, there is an apology posted on the site which reads, “Please excuse any outdated sections of our site as we (Kirk) misplaced the password in 2007. He just found it. We expect to have a fully updated site by November 25th, 2016. Some of you may be new here, so please enjoy what our otherwise state of the art website has to offer.”

Darn you Kirk.

The website claims to be written by Taylor Doose, the owner of the local grocery and Luke’s nemesis. Features of the website include a Town Updates section that contains all the notable events in Stars Hollow and hasn’t been updated since 2007 when the show went off the air. This section is so detailed the dates of the events like Rory’s graduation party match the dates the episodes aired. Whomever put this together was a true Gilmore Girls fan.

The website also has a Directory which showcases the businesses in Stars Hollow like Luke’s Diner, the Dragonfly Inn and Al’s Pancake World. There is a Town Meetings Request Forum which allows you to submit your concerns. and Kirk has an advice hotline advertised on the site, but we are warned not to take his advice too seriously.

The launch of the website coincides with the Luke’s Diner takeover that happened nationwide. On October 5 over 200 coffee shops agreed to have a makeover to look reminiscent of the iconic hard-ware store turned diner and give away free coffee.

Gilmore GirlsA Year in The Life will premiere on Netflix on November 25.
