Netflix Previews ‘Arcane: League of Legends’ Season Two Teaser At Annecy Festival

After announcing its premiere later this year, Netflix delivered fans the first look at the second season of its critically acclaimed animated series, Arcane. A teaser trailer for Arcane: League of Legends debuted at today’s Annecy Festival. The show’s final season is set for a November release. View the teaser below.

Based on the multi-player video game, Arcane tells the story of social and political strife between the haves of Piltover and the have-nots in the city of Zaun. At the center of the conflict are two estranged sisters – Jinx and Violet – who find themselves on opposite sides of the battle lines. Season one concluded with Violet making a concentrated effort to mend her relationship with her traumatized younger sister. But a violent attack on Piltover’s high council was a resounding declaration of war. Now, Vi finds herself a member of the council’s guard enforcers, pillaging any detractor in their way.

Arance stars Ella Purnell (Fallout, Yellowjackets) as Jinx and Haliee Stienfield (Hawkeye, Dickinson) as Violet along with Kevin Alejandro (Arrow, Fire Country), Ellen Thomas (Rev., Teachers), Shohreh Aghdashloo (The Expanse, Damsel), Harry Lloyd (Manhattan, The Lost King), Jason Spisak (Intersect, Young Justice), Yuri Lowenthal (The Swan Princess, Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse), Katie Leung (The Foreigner, The Peripheral), Reed Lorenzo Shannon (The Wilds, Canal Street), and Toks Olagundoye (ClearMind, Frasier).

Premiering in November of 2021, the series is created by Alex Lee and Christian Linke and was the first streaming series to covet a Primetime Emmy for Outstanding Animated Program. Linke and Yee executive produce with Riot Games co-founder Brandon Beck (7 Days Out, Valorent), Jane Chung Hoffacker (Arcane: Bridging the Rift), Riot’s Chief Product Offier and co-founder Marc Merrill (League of Legends: Origins), and Thomas Vu (Spore, Players).

The Annecy Festival, which lasts through June 15, showcases the latest in animated film and television. Netflix also premiered teases of other upcoming projects including the Tomb Raider and Terminator animated series both slated for the fall.
