Monkey D. Yuffy and his merry gang of swashbucklers are setting their sights on the big screen. According to Deadline, Netflix’s live-action adaptation of the global-hit magna and anime One Piece will premiere its highly anticipated second season in theaters. The first episodes will be released along with the new season on March 10.
Deadline lists the special screenings will arrive in over 200 theaters across the U.S., Canada and Japan. In North America, the screenings are scheduled for 6 p.m. local time.
Earlier this month, mxdwn reported the official trailer’s release, previewing the installment subtitled Into the Grand Line. One Piece tales the fantastical tale of an aspiring pirate named Monkey D. Luffy whose dream of becoming “King of the Pirates” leads him on journey in search of a cherished treasure known as the One Piece. Luffy is accompanied by an assortment of companions, including Sanji, Usopp, Nami, and Roronoa Zoro. The second season also introduces the popular sidekick, doctor Tony Tony Chopper, to the team’s lineup.
According to Deadline, tickets will be available to purchase on Thursday, Feb. 26 at. 8 p.m. PT/11 a.m. ET. A full list of participating theaters and times is included on the Netflix site, where tickets can also be obtained. Fan events will be hosted at AMC, Regal, Cinemark, Alamo and Cineplex theaters in the U.S., with additional events in Canada and Japan.

As fans gear up for season two, One Piece‘s third season is already in development with Awdo Awdo (Subversion, Onwards), Daisy Head (The Proxy, Wrong Turn) and Xolo Maridueña (Blue Beetle, Cobra Kai).
This is Netflix’s second attempt to conquer the box office following Stranger Things‘s epic series finale showing in theaters.
