Netflix announced that it has signed a multi-year deal with Twentieth Century Fox Television to air full seasons of New Girl, explains Entertainment Weekly.
“New Girl has proven to be the biggest breakout sitcom hit of the season and we are thrilled to be able offer it so quickly to our U.S. subscribers,” Netflix Chief Content Officer Ted Sarandos said in a statement. “We know our members love comedies and that they’ll enjoy watching all the current and future episodes of New Girl whenever and wherever they want,” reports the Hollywood Reporter.
Gina Brogi, executive vice president, worldwide pay television and subscription video on demand for Twentieth Century Fox Television Distribution added, “As a leader in digital distribution, Netflix is an important partner for us. We are thrilled to continue building our relationship with them.”
Entertainment Weekly adds that the season, which has previously been available on Hulu, will no longer have all the episodes on Hulu. Instead, only the five most recently released episodes will be on the site.
Fox renewed New Girl for a third season in March, two months ahead of its upfront presentation to advertisers, says the Hollywood Reporter.
