Netflix Drops Official Trailer For Tyler Perry’s New Drama Series ‘Beauty In Black’

According to Deadline, Netflix has just released the official trailer for Beauty in Black, an upcoming drama series created, directed, written, and executive produced by the prolific Tyler Perry (The Oval, Divorce In The Black, Sistas). The highly anticipated series will be released in two parts, with the first eight episodes premiering on October 24.

As mentioned by Deadline, Beauty in Black tells the story of two women from vastly different walks of life whose paths collide in unexpected ways. Kimmie, portrayed by Taylor Polidore Williams (Snowfall, Its Pony, All American: Homecoming), is a young woman struggling to get by after being kicked out by her mother. On the other hand, Mallory, played by Crystle Stewart (Good Deeds, For Better Or Worse), is a successful businesswoman enjoying the rewards of her hard work. Despite their contrasting circumstances, the two women become entangled in each other’s lives, leading to a gripping narrative full of twists and turns.

The star-studded cast includes Amber Reign Smith (The Other Black Girl, Rap Sh!t, Outlaw Posse) as Rain, Ricco Ross (The Sandman, Octopus, Story Of Eva) as Horace, Debbi Morgan (Eve’s Bayou, Asunder, All My Children) as Olivia, Richard Lawson (Black Fist, Poltergeist, Divorce In The Black) as Norman, and Steven G. Norfleet (Genius, Watchmen, Deadly Dispatch) as Charles. Also joining the ensemble are Julian Horton (Ruined, National Champions) as Roy, Terrell Carter (Everything That Glitters, Madea’s Class Reunion, Falling In Love Again) as Varney, Shannon Wallace (American Soul, Jacqueline And Jilly) as Calvin, and Bryan Tanaka (La La Land) as Officer Alex.

According to Deadline, the series is part of Perry’s extensive multi-year partnership with Netflix, cementing his relationship with the streaming giant. Beauty in Black was produced at Tyler Perry Studios, with Will Areu, Angi Bones, and Tony L. Strickland serving as producers alongside Perry.

With Perry’s signature blend of drama and heartfelt storytelling, Beauty in Black is poised to capture the attention of audiences when it debuts this fall. Fans can look forward to the second half of the 16-episode season arriving at a later date.
