If you enjoyed awkward comedies such as Nathan For You and Barry, you’ll be thrilled with this show that just got another season. I Think You Should Leave, beloved Netflix sketch comedy series created by Tim Robinson (Detroiters) of Saturday Night Live fame and Zach Kanin (Saturday Night Live), has just officially been renewed for its third season, according to an exclusive story by Variety. New sketches have already been written but the upcoming season is still reportedly in the writing phase of production.
The theme of the show is that of a classic sketch comedy with a tinge of secondhand embarrassment felt in every scene. In addition to being created by Robinson and Kanin, the series is produced by Andy Samberg (Brooklyn 99), Jorma Taccone (The Lego Movie), and Akiva Schaffer (Palm Springs) of the comedy group The Lonely Island.
Sam Richardson (I Think You Should Leave), a member of the same cast for the first two seasons, commented on the progress of the next season’s development in an interview with Variety, saying: “I’m not sure when they’ll start filming, but there are funny sketches coming already, I can tell you that much.”
This news also comes right on the heels of the revelation that Robinson and Kanin are also creating a new comedy pilot called Computer School ordered by HBO MAX. Production is reported to have been started on both projects, but it is unclear which will air first. As of now, a premiere date has not been set.
