

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Netflix on Wednesday canceled Kurt Sutter‘s (Mayan M.C., The Bastard Executioner) The Abandons and The Vince Staples Show.
As per The Hollywood Reporter, The Abandons logged 19.8M views in its first 28 days on Netflix after the Western premiered on the fourth of December. It spent two weeks in the Netflix Top 10 for English series, ranking as No.4 in its first two weeks of release with 7.4M and 7.6M views, respectively.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the series followed a group of outlier families in 1850s Oregon who came together to fight a corrupt, wealthy power that wanted to force them off their land. The cast of the series includes Nick Robinson (Everything, Everything, The King of Summer), Diana Silvers (Space Force, Booksmart), Lamar Johnson (The Last of Us, The Hate U Give), Natalia del Riego (Hail Mary, And Then She Was Gone) , Lucas Till (Stoker, The Collective), Aisling Franciosi (Speak No Evil, Stopmotion), Toby Hemingway (The Monster Project, Feast of Love), Michael Greyeyes (40 Acres, Wild Indian), Ryan Hurst (Sons of Anarchy, The Walking Dead), Katelyn Wells (The Lodge, Cyberbully), Clayton Cardenas (Mayans M.C., Americna Crime), Elle-Maija Tailfeathers (Night Raiders, Sweet Angel Baby) and many others.
As per The Hollywood Reporter, The Vince Staples Show never found a wide audience — it never charted on Netflix’s Weekly Top Ten. It was well received, scoring 94% with critics and 88% with viewers on Rotten Tomatoes.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, The Vince Staples Show is a semi-autobiographical comedy-drama on Netflix about rapper Vince Staples (Dope, Vince Staples MAGIC) navigating through life in his hometown of Long Beach, California, balancing day-to-day struggles, newfound fame, family drama, and bizarre situations with dry wit, existential humor, and a unique hip-hop lens. Created by Staples, Ian Edelman (The After Party, American Sole) and Maurice Williams (Clemency, The Madness), the satirical comedy loosely inspired by Staples life was executive produced by Kenya Barris (black-ish, You People), Staples, Corey Smyth (Gully, Punk), William Stefan Smith (Two Single Beds, Avenue 5), Andrea Sperling (Fresno, The Quiet) and Leonard Chang (The Lockpicker, Triplines).
