Will Arnett’s Chip is set to return to Netflix and Venice Beach in June.
Deadline reports that Flaked, created by Arnett and Mark Chappell, will debut its second season on June 2nd. Season 2 will have 6 episodes compared to the first season’s eight.
Arnett and Chappell’s series tells the story of Chip, an alcoholic slacker and life-guru who becomes a mentor to his friends in recovery. Season 2 of Flaked sees Chip coming back to Venice after leaving and having lost pretty much everything. Chip gets a sponsor and attempts to hold down a job, but the bottle is always nearby. Along with Arnett Flaked stars Ruth Kearney, David Sullivan, George Basil, Robert Wisdom, Elisabeth Rohm and Lina Esco.
Elisabeth Rohm is a new addition to Flaked for season 2. The Last Ship actress has been cast as Alex, a working single-mother. Alex and Chip meet at an AA meeting in Santa Monica and begin to hit it off.
Season 1 of Flaked originally premiered its eight-episode first season on Netflix on March 11th, 2016. A majority of season 1’s episodes, including the pilot, were directed by Transcendence director and longtime Nolan DP Wally Pfister. Pfister also recently directed the pilot for Amazon’s reboot of The Tick.
All six episodes of Flaked‘s second season will be available on Netflix on Jun 2nd, 2017.
