World of Dance, NBC’s forthcoming dance competition show has announced its addition of two new judges – dancer and Emmy winner Derek Hough and singer-actor Ne-Yo. The pair will join Jennifer Lopez at the judges table in the 10-episode series from Universal Television Alternative Studio and Nuyorican Productions in which dancers compete and show their talents for a chance to win a grand prize of $1 million, Deadline reported.
Hough, who will star in the upcoming Hairspray Live!, has won two Choreography Emmys Dancing with the Stars. Ne-Yo is a producer, composer and Grammy-winning artist who also played the Tin Man in the The Wiz Live! in 2015.
Said Meredith Ahr, President of Universal Television Alternative Studio: “Jennifer, Derek and Ne-Yo are three of the most accomplished dancers of their generation, and their incredible insight from the judges table will be both inspiring and wholly constructive to the world-class level of dancers who are competing on the show. “We feel so very honored that the three of them are giving back to the dance community in this way.”
In World of Dance we will see solo dancers competing against duos and crews in a diverse range of dance disciplines: hip-hop, krumping, popping, locking, tap, ballet, break dancing, ballroom, stomping and more.
The series has no premiere date as of yet.
