In a post on his Instagram, actor Ncuti Gatwa (Sex Education) ignites rumors and speculation that he may not return to Netflix’s Sex Education. The caption of the Instagram post reads “Last day. Last time. Bye bubs, thank you for all the lessons and for all the strength.” This comes after previous confirmation that Gatwa would appear in the upcoming fourth season of the series, and after it was announced the he is set to star as the Fifteenth Doctor in the newest series of the BBC show Doctor Who, via Comicbook.
Doctor Who is a classic science-fiction series on BBC. The Doctor is called a `Time Lord’, and he isa time-travelling scientist from a far off planet, who travels through time and space in a shop known by the acronym TARDIS. A TARDIS is a machine that is larger on the inside than the outside and is supposed to change its appearance based on its surroundings. The Doctor is also able to evolve his biology, so he appears as many different people throughout the series. Previous Doctors include actors such as Matt Smith (The Crown) and David Tennant (Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire).
Ncuti Gatwa plays the character Eric on Sex Education. Sex Education is a British comedy-drama streaming television series created by Laurie Nunn for Netflix. It follows the lives of the students, staff and parents of the fictional Moordale Secondary School as they contend with various personal dilemmas, often related to sexual intimacy.
Doctor Who has a long legacy in television, first premiering in 1963. In a press release from the first announcement of his casting, Gatwa describes his feelings around being cast as “A mix of deeply honoured, beyond excited and of course a little bit scared”, but that “Unlike the Doctor, [he] may only have one heart but [is] giving it all to this show.”, via Comicbook.
