NCIS: Los Angeles will end with season fourteen, says The Hollywood Reporter. The NCIS spinoff will end with a total of 322 episodes after the season finale this spring.
The crime drama centers around the Naval Criminal Investigation Service’s Office of Special Projects as it takes on the undercover work and the hard to crack cases in LA, per IMDB. Key agents are G. Callen and Sam Hanna, street kids risen through the ranks, played by Chris O’Donnell (Scent of a Woman, The Three Musketeers) and LL Cool J (Deep Blue Sea, Mindhunters), respectively. It is a spinoff of twenty-season crime drama NCIS. Other spinoffs are NCIS: New Orleans, which only ran for seven seasons, and NCIS: Hawai’i, which is currently in its second season.
Other members of the cast include Daniela Ruah (Red Tails, A Espia), Oscar winner Linda Hunt (The Year of Living Dangerously, Kindergarten Cop), Eric Christian Olsen (Not Another Teen Movie, Dumb and Dumberer: When Harry Met Lloyd), Medalion Rahimi (Before I Fall, Still Star-Crossed), Caleb Castille (Woodlawn, Tell Me A Story), and Emmy award winner Gerald McRaney (This Is Us, Simon & Simon). LL Cool J, O’Donnell, Hunt, and Ruah are known as the heart of the show, having been working together for its entire run. Olsen quickly became a fan favorite as well after becoming a series regular in season two.
Showrunner R. Scott Gemmill said of the news: “I want to thank both the network and [CBS] Studios for their partnership and support over the years; [series creator] Shane Brennan for giving us such a great playground; and my partners John P. Kousakis, Frank Military, Kyle Harimoto and Andrew Bartels for their tireless efforts and collaboration episode after episode. Our crew has grown to be a true family, and their hard work and dedication has been fundamental to our success year after year. My deepest gratitude to the cast members, who have brought our characters to life with their impassioned performances — thank you for your talent, professionalism and continuous enthusiasm. And to our loyal viewers who loved our characters and followed their journeys, thank you. We look forward to delivering an end to the series that is both satisfying and does justice to these beloved characters,” per The Hollywood Reporter.
