The long-running hit NBC sitcom Superstore is wrapping up its sixth and final season on March 25. The series finale episode will feature the returning America Ferrera’s (Ugly Betty) character Amy Sosa after the actress departed in the early stages of the sixth season, according to Comic Book. Created by Justin Spitzer (The Office), the NBC original sitcom premiered in late 2015, ran for six seasons, and, when it is all said in done, the show will consist of a total of 113 episodes. Currently, the series finale is set to air as an hour-long episode in contrast to the series’ regular half-hour installments.
Superstore centers on the inner workings and employee relationships at the Cloud 9 Superstore located in St. Louis, Missouri. The comedy series primarily focused on the relationship between Amy and Ben Feldman’s (Cloverfield) character, the college grad Jonah Simms. Additional cast includes the likes of Nichole Sakura (Shameless), Colton Dunn (Key & Peele, MadTV), Johnny Pemberton (21 Jump Street), Lauren Ash (Almost Heroes), Nico Santos (Crazy Rich Asians), Mark McKinney (Saturday Night Live), and Kaliko Kausahi (Raven’s Home).

Ferrera announced her departure in February 2020 and was featured in the first two episodes of season six with her final being the show’s 100th episode. Currently, it is unknown what is driving Ferrera’s Amy back to Cloud 9 for the final moments of the series, yet speculation revolves around her relationship with Ash’s Dina and Feldman’s Jonah. While the series is set to come to a close, there have also been rumors revolving around a potential spin-off featuring Pemberton’s Bo and Sakura’s Cheyenne.
