NBC’s ‘Law & Order’ Cast David Ajala For 25th Season

According to The Hollywood Reporter, NBC’s crime television drama Law & Order has added Star Trek: Discovery alum David Ajala (The Dark Knight, Fast & Furious 6). Ajala will be taking on the role of an NYPD detective, who he will play alongside Reid Scott’s (The Big C, Venom: The Last Dance) Vincent Riley. Ajala’s first appearance on the show will come partway through the season; Law & Order opens its 25th campaign Thursday night.

As per The Hollywood Reporter, Law & Order is a television drama series that follows the New York City criminal justice system, which is either fictional or inspired by real-life events. The series has been running since 1990 and is about to have its 25th season. The series is produced by Universal Television in association with Wolf Entertainment. Dick Wolf (FBI: International, Chicago Med), Rick Eid (The Guardian, The Lottery), Alex Hall (The Deuce, True Detective) and Peter Jankowski (When You’re Strange, Chicago Fire) executive produce.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the casting comes two months after Mehcad Brooks (Mortal Kombat, And Just Like That…), who played Detective Jalen Shaw for three seasons, departed the series. The series is known for having two lead detectives investigating homicide but this season Scott’s character will not have a partner for the first few episodes. Scott, as well as the regular cast from the 24 season which includes Maura Tierney (American Rust, The Iron Claw), Hugh Dancy (Confessions of a Shopaholic, The Sleeping Dictionary), Odelya Halevi (Good Girls Revolt, Why Women Kill) and Tony Goldwyn (The Last House on the Left, The Belko Experiment) are returning for the coming season.

As per The Hollywood Reporter, Ajala’s credits include playing Cleveland Booker for three seasons on Star Trek: Discovery. He will next be seen in Netflix’s movie The Woman in Cabin 10, which will air on the streamer on Oct. 10. Other credits include MGM+’s Nine Bodies in a Mexican Morgue, a recurring role on Supergirl, The Jetty at the BBC and USA Network’s Falling Water.
