Days of Our Lives is set to return to production by late summer, according to Deadline. Corday Productions announced plans for cast and crew of the series that production will resume again September 1st, via Variety. This daytime drama is one of few planning to resume production, with The Bold and The Beautiful being the first to begin production on June 16.
Days Of Our Lives, The Young and the Restless, The Bold and the Beautiful and General Hospital were put to halt in the middle of March due to COVID-19. The Young and the Restless and The Bold and the Beautiful ran out of original episodes at the end of April, General Hospital at the end of May, and all have switched to repeats curated into theme weeks, according to Deadline.
The drama surrounds the intertwining stories of the Bradys, Hortons and DiMeras through their romances, adventures, tragedies and beyond. The series has been on NBC since 1965 with over 13,000 episodes to its name. It was renewed for it’s record 56th season in January of this year.
The current cast consists of Kristian Alfinso as Hope Alice Williams, John Aniston as Victor Kiriakis, Camila Banus as Gabe Hernandez, Nadia Bjorlin as Chloe Lane, Bryan Dattilo as Lucas Horton, Judi Evans as Adrienne Johnson Kirakis, Mary Beth Evans as Kayla Brady, Billy Flynn as Chad DiMera, Galen Gerin as Rafe Hernandez, Deidre Hall as Marlena Evans, Drake Hogestyn as John Black, Vincent Irizarry as Deimos Kiriakis, Olivia Rose Keegan as Claire Brady, Victoria Konefal as Ciara Brady, and Lauren Koslow as Kate Roberts, along with others.
Previously taped episodes of the series are still banked and set to air on NBC roughly through October before running out, according to Variety.
