NBC Unveils 2024 Lineup of Scripted and Unscripted Series

NBC has finalized the premiere dates for some of their classics for the early part of the 2024 season. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the network is even set to release its biggest scripted series before its rivals. Since the actors strike ended earlier this month, NBC has had a tight turnaround between producing several of its series and having them return.

The first series to make a comeback is the second-year comedy Night Court, followed by a brand new series, Extended Family, on Dec. 23 after a Saturday afternoon NFL game. After that, both series will be broadcast more frequently starting Jan.2.

Since Night Court wrapped its first season last spring, they were able to get some filming in before the WGA strike started in May. Extended Family, on the other hand, was fortunate enough to film their whole first season off-cycle.

This schedule is set to start much sooner than ABC, which will have all of their biggest scripted series, such as Abbott Elementary, The Conners and Not Dead Yet premiere a month later on Feb.7.

The two big nights for NBC’s scripted programming will be none other than the Chicago and Law & Order franchises, which will also premiere in January. The Chicago franchise will take over on Jan.17, while all three Law & Order shows will premiere on Jan.18.

On the flipside, the drama series La Brea (who filmed before the strikes) will be broadcasting their very last season on Feb.9.

More scripted series on the list are two first-year dramas entitled Found and The Irrational, and both are set to broadcast and finish their season in January and February.

Among NBC’s unscripted series, the network will premiere America’s Got Talent: Fantasy League worldwide on Jan.1. This season is set to feature acts from past seasons and other so-called Got Talent worldwide.

The game show Deal or No Deal Island will premiere on Feb.26, alongside the spring edition of The Voice

The network’s post-football Sunday schedule will be announced at a later date.

NBC has not placed premiere dates for several other scripted series, such as the remaining episodes of Magnum P.I. and Quantum Leap and the new seasons of Lopez. vs. Lopez, Weakest Link, That’s My Jam and Password.
