NBC released a teaser for the upcoming sixth and final season of This Is Us, according to Deadline. The season, aptly titled “The Final Chapter,” will premiere on January 4.
The teaser comes just one day after a 15-second teaser promotional clip, which featured a tear-jerking clip of a present-day Rebecca, played by Mandy Moore (A Walk To Remember), as she comes to terms with her advancing Alzheimer’s. Both teasers were set to Cyndi Lauper’s “Time After Time” sung by Chrissy Metz’s (Sierra Burgess is a Loser) Kate, as Chris Sullivan’s (The Knick) Toby watches.
The Emmy-winning series follows Jack, played by Milo Ventimiglia (Gilmore Girls), and his wife Rebecca after they welcome their triplets into their new Pittsburgh home. In the present day, the children – now adults – navigate each of their traumatic childhood experiences following the death of their father and the remarriage of their mother. This Is Us stars Sterling K. Brown (Frozen II), Justin Hartley (Smallville), and Susan Kelechi Watson (Louie), alongside Moore, Metz, and Ventimiglia.
The teaser was publicized on Twitter by the show’s creator and executive producer, Dan Fogelman (Life Itself).
