NBC has made an order for a pilot from Jessica Goldberg for the drama Suspicion. Suspicion‘s pilot order is based on the book by New York Times bestselling author Joseph Finder. Goldberg is the creator and executive producer for Hulu’s The Path (which is on its third season). Before The Path, she was a writer and executive producer for NBC’s Parenthood. This shows a working relationship that she already has with NBC.
According to his website, Finder himself has written fourteen suspense novels. His stand alone novel, Suspicion, was published in 2014. The book itself was also a New York Times bestseller.
Suspicion is a ‘Hitchcockian thriller’ which focuses on a man named Danny. He is coerced to become an informant for the FBI. He accepts a loan from his new friend and millionaire neighbor. This is how he draws the attention of the FBI. Danny then has to infiltrate a world filled with violence and corruption. Danny would do anything to protect his daughter.
Suspicion brings the number of NBC drama pilots this season to eight.
