NBC Moves Up ‘Blindspot’ Season 5 Release Date

Blindspot‘s final season is getting closer: NBC announced Friday that the crime drama will premiere on Tuesday, April 30 at 10 p.m. and will move back to its normal 9 p.m, according to Variety. time slots starting on May 7. Blindspot was originally planned for Summer 2020 but the new season’s schedule had been changed by the COVID-19 pandemic. As a result, the season will also be shorter with only 13 episodes.

The last season ended with a shocking cliffanger: as her team was hiding from the authorities, Jane (Jaimie Alexander) witnessed the explosion that destroyed the safe house where they were hiding. This is the antagonist Madeline Burke (Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio) who ordered the drone strike, letting the audience wonders if Weller (Sullivan Stapleton) and the others made it alive.

However, series creator Martin Gero implied to TVLine that “it would be safe to assume that not everyone makes it out of that safe house alive.” Gero serves as executive producer along with Greg Berlanti and Sarah Schechter , working with Warner Bros Television Studio. Blindspot gathered an important fanbase  with 2.8 million viewers and broken characters in search of redemption.
