NBC Developing ‘Worth’ Detective Drama From Mike Diliberti, Jake Coburn And Jack Carr

NBC is developing a new detective drama titled Worth from Mike Diliberti (Bad Man, 30 Minutes or Less), Jake Coburn (The Hunting Party, The Endgame) and Jack Carr (The Terminal List, True Believer, Savage Son). According to Deadline, the project is being developed through NBC and Universal Television, a division of Universal Studio Group.

Worth follows Will Worth, a decorated Army Ranger who becomes a bestselling author and pop-culture celebrity after his military career. Despite his success, Worth eventually decides to leave behind his celebrity lifestyle and return to his former job as a detective in Nashville.

Diliberti will serve as a writer and executive producer on the series alongside Coburn and Carr. The project marks another collaboration between NBC and Coburn, who is also developing the upcoming police procedural Gatsby with Jason Tracey (Burn Notice, Elementary, The 100).

Diliberti previously made his feature directorial debut with the 2025 action comedy Bad Man, starring Seann William Scott (American Pie, Role Models, The Rundown), Johnny Simmons (The Perks of Being a Wallflower, Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, Jennifer’s Body) and Rob Riggle (The Hangover, 21 Jump Street, Step Brothers). He also wrote the 2011 action comedy 30 Minutes or Less, which was produced by Ben Stiller (Zoolander, Night at the Museum, Tropic Thunder) and directed by Ruben Fleischer (Zombieland, Venom, Uncharted).

Coburn previously served as co-showrunner and executive producer of NBC’s The Hunting Party. He also co-created and executive produced the network’s crime drama The Endgame. His upcoming project Gatsby is another police procedural currently in development at NBC and Universal Television.

Carr is a former Navy SEAL and bestselling author whose novel The Terminal List was adapted into a Prime Video series starring Chris Pratt (Guardians of the Galaxy, Jurassic World, The Tomorrow War). Carr also serves as an executive producer on the adaptation.

In addition to The Terminal List, Carr has written several novels, including The Devil’s Hand, In the Blood, Only the Dead, Red Sky Mourning and The Fourth Option. His military background includes more than 20 years in Naval Special Warfare, during which he served in leadership positions in Iraq, Afghanistan and the Philippines.

Worth is currently in development at NBC. Casting details and a potential premiere date have not yet been announced.
