The upcoming NBC comedy entitled Young Rock, surrounding actor Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s (Jumanji, Baywatch) youth, continues to add to its cast, according to Variety. Thus far, 10-year-old Johnson will be played by Adrian Groulx (The Christmas Cure), with Bradley Constant (Following Phil) playing him at the age of 15 and Uni Latukefu (Marco Polo) playing him from the ages of 18-20.
Also previously announced to be joining the cast, Stacey Leilua (Love Birds) will play Johnson’s mother, Joseph Lee Anderson (S.W.A.T., Harriet) will play his father, and Ana Tuisila (Lilu) will play his grandmother. The newest addition to the cast includes Lexie Duncan (VeeBees) who is slated to play his high-school sweetheart. She will play opposite Constant, whose character begins dating her in their town of Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, prior to Johnson’s recruitment to play football for the University of Miami. Duncan will make her primetime debut with this role and is represented by Luber Roklin, Active Artists Management and The Initiative Group.
Young Rock is expected to premiere later in 2021 and will examine Johnson’s adolescence up until his college football career and later his professional wrestling career. Future cast members are still yet to be announced.
