The former Homeland actress will play a major character for what is left of Scandal‘s third season, says The Hollywood Reporter.
Boniadi will recur on the final eight episodes of this season of Scandal and it is known that she will have a major importance on what is to come on the storyline, but further details about her character are being kept a secret as of right now.
In the remaining episodes of the political drama’s third season, Olivia Pope (Kerry Washington)’s mother, played by Khandi Alexander, will appear often, in addition to seeing Fitz (Tony Goldwyn)’s plans for re-election, as well as a potential new romance between the First Lady, Mellie (Bellamy Young) and another new character, played by Jon Tenney.
Nazanin Boniadi is best-known for her role as Fara Sherazi on Homeland‘s third season, but she already worked with Shonda Rhimes on an episode of Grey’s Anatomy, and has also starred in other shows like How I Met Your Mother, 24 and General Hospital, among others.
