Belfast, Northern Ireland residents were in for a surprise one afternoon, when they noticed the The Shawshank Redemption actor Morgan Freeman wandering around the city, Belfast Live reports. Getting closer, they realized he was filming. Later, it was revealed Freeman was indeed filming for a new National Geographic docu-series titled The Story Of Us With Morgan Freeman.
A follow up to 2016’s The Story Of God With Morgan Freeman, the new series is being produced by Freeman’s production company Revelations Entertainment. According to Variety, the series will follow Freeman has he travels all over the world to interact with people whose “lives are shaped in surprised ways by different fundamental forces,” exploring a single theme in every episode, like love, war, freedom, rebellion, belief, power, and peace. The six hour-long episode series will make its mark on National Geographic in the fall of 2017.

“I’ve been given the incredible opportunity to take viewers on a new global journey to understand how human culture has taken on so many remarkable forms,” said Freeman, who co-founded Revelations Entertainment with Lori McCreary. “We’re exploring how primal forces, such as love, has shaped human culture around the world and where it will take us in the future.”
McCreary and James Younger will executive produce the series along with Freeman through his production company Revelations Entertainment. The National Geographic production, development and programming teams are on board as well, adding “We’re thrilled to partner with Revelations Entertainment once again on a refreshing new take on our successful series franchise,” said Tim Pastore, president of original programming and production. “It is no surprise that our global audience has warmly embraced Morgan as part of the National Geographic family. The beauty of this franchise is that Morgan represents all of us on his personal quest to understand these topics,” Variety reports.
Freeman is well known for his calm demeanor and authoritative narrating voice in films like The Shawshank Redemption, Se7en, Million Dollar Baby, and Driving Miss Daisy.
