Nat Geo Docuseries ‘Dead By Dawn’ Releases Teaser

Robert Kirkman (The Walking Dead) has executive produced a new National Geographic documentary titled Dead by Dawn; the title being a homage one of the original Evil Dead films. The series will premiere Sunday, January 13 @9pm on Nat Geo Wild.

Loyal fans will have a chance to experience the horror genre through the viciousness of the animal kingdom after dark, in the brand-new docuseries. Visuals and other typical gimmicks, will also be employed just like similar tactics used in popular horror films.

Each episode will showcase different plot twists different predators experience in the wild and will derive inspiration from horror classics, modern and cult ones. Innovative storytelling techniques will also encourage more suspenseful and tense moments, layered with eeriness and terror while being cemented in real-life event. And, Dead By Dawn plans on doing just that by promising to focus on the deadly nocturnal habits of several creatures.

Even the first two episodes of the series titled, ‘The Hills Have Eyes’ and ‘Night of the Living Dead’ don’t just borrow titles from horror classics, they also incorporate the original inspiration’s concept into each episode’s subject. The result will be an original take on the nature documentary genre, whereas most tend to approach things more optimistically and lively. Dead By Dawn is exclusively interested in the “terrifying real stories of life in the wild.”

“Dead by Dawn delivers captivating and excellent visuals and storytelling while audaciously leaning into classic horror folly and memorable, distinctive soundtracks alongside suspenseful nature stories that begin just before sunset and end just after sunrise. Each episode features wildlife in a different country, from Costa Rica to Indonesia to the swamps of the USA. Once the sun goes down, creatures of the night battle for survival. It’s a countdown until dawn, and only the strongest and luckiest will live to see the sunrise. Warning: Be prepared to scream!”
