MTV’s Faking It has been renewed for a second season a day before the season one finale.
Exclusively from Deadline, the second season renewal has an order for 10-episodes. The series is the highest-rated new series on MTV this year. It averages a 1.5 rating with persons 12-24. The episodes receive around 1.4 million viewers each week. It airs after MTV’s Awkward at 10:30 PM and retains almost 90% of the viewers. It is also one of the top 10 socially engaged primetime cable series for Tuesday nights.
“Faking It has proved to be the perfect companion show to Awkward,” said Susanne Daniels, President of MTV Programming. “We’re excited about Carter Covington’s delicious plans for season two.”
Faking It centers on two friends, Karma (Katie Stevens) and Amy (Rita Volk), who fail at becoming popular. They are labeled lesbians and instantly become popular. They decide to go with it and keep up their romantic ruse.
Dana Min Goodman and Julia Wolov created Faking It. It is executive produced by Covington.
