Wait Til Next Year will follow the Lincoln Park Railsplitters football team. The revolutionary move by MTV to release the full series to its app one week before the scheduled television debut marks the first of its kind. This is the first time a network is releasing an entire series to mobile access before television. The series will be available on the MTV app accessible by iPhone, iPad, and Xbox 360 Xbox live gold members in the U.S.
The Hollywood Reporter writes that according to MTV, the MTV app has seen an 82% increase in installments when the networked launched the initiative. The app-first release is the latest experiment by Viacom Music and Logo Group, with the goal of providing viewers with access to content using its apps.
Wait Til Next Year will make its television debut at 8pm on November 1st on MTV.
