‘Modern Family’s Sofia Vergara Comments On Reboot

Sofia Vergara (Hot Pursuit,Griselda) discusses being open to a reboot of the ABC show Modern Family, but feels it too early for the show to make a comeback so soon. According to Deadline, while making an appearance on the Jimmy Fallon’s The Tonight Show, the star was asked about a potential reboot of the show after a social media post she made with a photo of her fellow cast mates in November around the holidays.

Sofia plays the feisty, compassionate, and proud Colombian, Gloria Delgado-Pritchett. She is a series regular on the show and has appeared in every episode of the show.

“No it’s only been four years,” The Colombian star states to Fallon when asked about a possibility of a reboot.

Deadline mentions that the Late Night host further asks Vergara how long will it be before a reboot is in the works. She states “I don’t know, but it doesn’t seem right. I feel like we need a little bit more time.”

Sofia jokes “Well, we don’t have much time because Ed [O’Neill] is old.” O’Neill(Finding Dory, Wreck-It-Ralph) plays Jay Pritchett, Vergara’s character wealthy husband in the show.

According to Deadline, Jimmy gives an idea for the cast to do a holiday special which Sofia agrees while wanting him to produce the holiday show.

The star reveals that she keeps in contact with all of her Modern Family co-stars through group chat with the slight exception of Ed O’Neill due to his struggle of keeping up with texting and she comments on it by saying “it usually takes up to 26 weeks to reply to messages, at which point they have forgotten what they were talking about then.”
