Justin Timberlake Makes ‘SNL’ Return After A Decade

According to TVLine, Justin Timberlake(Reptile, Runner Runner) will be making his SNL return after nearly ten years on Jan 27. in studio 8H on NBC viewing from 11:30/10:30c. This return will mark his first appearance back on the late night comedy skits show Saturday Night Live since 2015.

Usually, Timberlake does double the work on SNL by hosting and performing. This time around the singer, songwriter will only be on the show as a musical guest for Dakota Johnson (How To Be Single, Fifty Shades of Grey), who will be hosting while promoting her new film, Madame Web. This episode will be Johnson’s second time hosting SNL; her first appearance on the show was in 2015 with her musical guest, Alabama Shakes.

Not only is Timberlake a singer, songwriter and record producer he’s also acted in films such as In Time starring Amanda Seyfriend, Palmer, Friends with Benefits with Mila Kunis and provided his voice to the animated Trolls series’ voicing Branch.

According to TVLine, The former frontman of NSYNC made his stage debut with his bandmates in an episode that was hosted by Joshua Jackson (Dawson Creek) in 2000. In the years, 2003, 2006, and 2013, Timberlake returned as a solo performer and hosted while also being the musical guest. In 2011, he hosted while Lady Gaga made an appearance and in 2009 with Ciara. He did make an appearance during the show’s 40th anniversary special his last time on the show in 2015. Justin’s last time performing on SNL was in 2013 as Jimmy Fallon hosted and he was the musical guest.

The most recent SNL episode on January 20th was presented by Jacob Elordi (Saltburn, Priscilla) and featured musical guest Reneé Rapp (Mean Girls), which can be watched anywhere before Timberlake and Johnson hit the SNL stage. On February 3, the program will also air a new episode; however, the musical guest and host have not yet been revealed.
