Mira Furlan, who is known for playing Minbari Ambassador Delenn on TNT sci-fi series Babylon 5 and Danielle Rousseau on ABC’s Lost, died Wednesday at 65, according to TVLine. Furlan’s cause of death has, as of yet, not been disclosed, according to Page Six.
Furlan’s death was announced on her personal Twitter account Thursday evening through a series of images.
Babylon 5 creator J. Michael Straczynski wrote on Twitter that it was a sad night.
Furlan was famous first in her home country of Croatia, having starred in films such as the Oscar-nominated When Father Was Away on Business, directed by Emir Kusturica in 1985, according to Deadline.
After emigrating to the US in 1991, Furlan became Delenn on Babylon 5, which ran for five seasons, according to Deadline. After Babylon 5, Furlan appeared in twenty episodes of Lost as scientist Rousseau, according to TVLine. Furlan also appeared in NCIS, Law & Order: Los Angeles and Just Add Magic, according to TVLine.
Furlan is survived by Goran Gajić, her husband, and their son, Marko, according to Page Six.
