Comicbook reveals the upcoming TV show Spider-Noir released new casting updates. Kai Caster (Yellowstone, House of Lies) is joining the cast of the MGM+ series. Spider-Noir features the beloved character Spider-Man in a different universe. This series follows an old-school New York City detective from the 1930s. The character is known for different styles of combat. This version of Spider-Man uses parkour moves and guns as his weapon of choice.
Fans first saw this character back in 2018 with Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse. The film featured many Spider-Men all from different universes. Spider-Man Noir played by Nicolas Cage (Longlegs, Con Air) was one of the most notable with his old-time language and great comedic relief.
According to Deadline, the character Caster plays has not been revealed, as most other details about the series remain a mystery. The only information the network will give fans is that Caster will star as a secret character. Caster is well known for his role in Yellowstone as Rowdy in the Paramount Plus show’s fifth season. In addition to Yellowstone, Caster starred in American Horror Story as William Banks.
Other cast members include Lamorne Morris (New Girl, Woke), who will play Robbie Robertson, a liberal journalist. Deadline also lists Brendan Gleeson’s (The Gaurd, Calvary) mob boss and a lounge singer played by Li Jun Li (Babylon, Based on a True Story). The rest of the cast is rounded out by an unemployed WWI veteran played by Abraham Popoola (The Great, Andor); a bodyguard played by Jack Huston (Mayfair Witches, Kill Your Darlings); and Karen Rodriguez (Swarm, Shining Girls) playing another secret role.
According to Comicbook, the live-action series completed production, which was delayed by the devastating effects of the Los Angeles fires. The wildfires were another hindrance in a long list of obstacles throughout the project’s development. Not only was it impacted by the 2023 writer’s strike, but changes within the studio also slowed progress.
A release date for the series has yet to be announced.
