According to The Hollywood Reporter, recently it was announced that the Forest Whitaker (The Last King of Scotland) crime drama Godfather of Harlem will be back for another season on MGM+, formerly known as Epix. MGM+ has renewed the series for a fourth season which will be executive produced by Whitaker and will compile 10 episodes. The production for the series will start next year and take place in New York.
Michael Wright, head of MGM+, said, “Forest Whitaker’s inspired performance as Bumpy Johnson has introduced an iconic, archetypal television antihero to the premium television landscape. The cast and creative team exceed expectations every single season, both creatively and cinematically. We couldn’t be more delighted to embark on a fourth season with this incredibly talented group of people.”
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the series is produced by Disney’s ABC Signature, created and executive produced by Chris Brancato (First Wave) and the late Paul Eckstein (Narcos). Other executive producers include Whitaker, Nina Yang Bongiovi (Sorry to Bother You), James Acheson (The Last Emperor), and Markuann Smith (Demonico). Swizz Beatz (Blue Streak) serves as executive music producer.
“I’m so gratified to continue my creative partnership with Michael Wright, his MGM+ team, and ABC Signature,” said Brancato. “This show has been a labor of love, and we dedicate this season to Paul Eckstein, my friend and co-creator, who passed unexpectedly this summer.”

All current seasons of the series are available to stream on MGM+ and Hulu.
