Megan Suri Joins Second Season Of ‘Never Have I Ever’

Megan Suri (Fresh Off The Boat) has officially joined the cast of the Netflix comedy Never Have I Ever, which debuted in the beginning of the year, according to Deadline. The Netflix show surrounds the academic and social life of first-generation Indian-American teenager Devi Vishwakumar, played by Maitreyi Ramakrishnan (Acting for a Cause).

Suri is slated to play the role of Aneesa, a new Indian student at Sherman Oaks High School who begins to pose a threat to Devi. Ramakrishnan will reprise her role as Devi alongside returning cast members Poorna Jagannathan (Delhi Belly, Big Little Lies), Richa Moorjani (X: Past is Present), Lee Rodriguez in her debut role, Ramona Young (Santa Clarita Diet), and Jaren Lewison (Away & Back).

Creator Mindy Kaling (The Mindy Project, The Office) has stated that production for the second season has been running smoothly despite the pandemic, “There was no hesitation to get back to work, the cast [of teenagers] were all excited to get back to work, COVID be damned….Our production has done a great job, I had to come in 20 minutes early to have my COVID test and it’s changed the face of craft services, but that’s pretty much it,” via Deadline.

Suri’s credits include appearing in ABC’s Fresh Off the Boat, HBO’s The Brink, and Netflix’s Atypical.
