According to Screen Rant, The Witcher star Mecia Simons (My Sad, Angry Man) is very confident that Henry Cavill’s (Man of Steel) departure from the series will not impact the future of the show. Recently Cavill shocked many fans of the series when he announced his departure from the Netflix original and stated that Liam Hemsworth (The Hunger Games) will be taking on the mantle of Geralt of Rivia.
According to Screen Rant, Cavill will be leaving the show after season three of the series. Hemsworth will play the main role of Geralt in season four as well as any future season such as the recently confirmed season five. In an interview with A Trip to the Movies with Alex Zane, Simon stated that she doesn’t believe the change in actor will have a grand impact on the show.
Simons said, “I was very shocked when I found out because we’ve done three seasons with him. Obviously, it’s sad because it’s an end of an era. But that’s okay. And I think what comes next… there’s going to be more exciting things that are going to happen. I think the show is still going to be great and I feel like we’re grateful that we had the time that we did when we had him. Of course it’s sad, but, honestly, I don’t think it’s going to affect the show that much. I feel like the show is so big and there’s so many elements to it that– I just feel like everything is going to be okay. It’ll be a nice transition and I think Hemsworth is going to do an amazing job.”
