‘Mayor Of Kingstown’ Changes Poster After Jeremy Renner Snowplow Accident

According to Variety, after his unfortunate snowplow accident, Paramount+ has chosen to change its key art photo of two-time Academy Award nominee Jeremy Renner (The Hurt Locker, The Town). The original poster featured Renner with bruises on his face, which has been edited to remove such injuries.

On January 1st, via ABC7, Renner was run over by his own 14,000-pound snowplow while he was trying to help family member stuck on the road after a heavy winter storm in the mountains near Reno. Renner suffered massive injuries and was airlifted to a hospital, where he has been recuperating alongside his mother and sister, who said he is “crushing all the progress goals.” After getting two surgeries and spending some time in an intensive care unit, Renner has also shared a post of his swollen and bruised face on Instagram to thank his fans for their support.

Per Paramount+, the thriller follows the McLusky family – power brokers in Kingstown, Michigan where the business of incarceration is the only thriving industry. The story tackles themes of systemic racism, corruption and inequality, says IMDB. Renner stars as the protagonist of the show, Mike McLusky. The second installment of the show was released on January 15th.

The series was created by Hugh Dillon (Yellowstone, Flashpoint) and Taylor Sheridan (Hell or High Water, Wind River). Dillon, apart from executive producing the show, also portrays Ian in the series. Sheridan is known for his work on hit Western drama Yellowstone and its spinoffs 1923 and 1883He also has an upcoming series called Lioness, which is set to star Oscar winners Nicole Kidman and Morgan Freeman.

Renner is joined by two-time Oscar winner Dianne Wiest (The Birdcage, Hannah and Her Sisters), Tobi Bamtefa (Tin Star, The Witcher), Taylor Handley (Chasing Mavericks, Vegas), and Emma Laird (A Haunting in Venice, From Life).
