‘Mayans M.C.’ Renewed For Fourth Season

FX has ordered a renewal for one of its most-watched shows, Mayans M.C., having averaged 741,000 same-day viewers per episode in season three’s eight episodes, according to The Hollywood ReporterThe show’s season three finale is scheduled for May 11, with season four slated to air in 2022.

Co-creator Elgin James (Little Birds) took over as showrunner for Kurt Sutter (Sons of Anarchy) in 2019. “Elgin James, his creative collaborators, this incredible cast and crew delivered on another epic season of Mayans M.C.,” Nick Grad, president of original programming at FX said in a statement. “Through three seasons, Mayans has told stories that resonate well beyond the border where the club thrives and survives, inviting fans inside their world and giving them a seat at the table,” via The Hollywood Reporter

James continued, “I am deeply indebted to everyone at FX and 20th for allowing us to continue to tell the stories of the characters Kurt and I created and whom our cast and crew took to new heights in season three. In season four we look forward to diving deeper into each character’s truths, exploring the danger of the combustible world they inhabit, and for each writer, cast member, and crew to stake out our place as storytellers,” via The Hollywood Reporter

Mayans MC follows Ezekiel “EZ” Reyes, played by J. D. Pardo (The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn), as a newly patched member of the Mayans M.C. charter on the California/Mexico border. Meanwhile, he and his brother work harder than ever to uncover the mystery of their mother’s death while their father comes to terms with the choices they have made as a family. The show’s fourth season will air sometime in 2022, while the third season is reaching its conclusion.
