Max’s New Series ‘The Girls On The Bus’ Premieres March 14th

A new original series is coming to Max according to a Warner Brothers Discovery press release. The Girls on the Bus will debut on March 14th on Max.

The drama series from Warner Bros. Television will premiere with 2 episodes on March 14th. Following the initial releases, the series will release new episodes weekly until the season finale on May 9.

The logline for the series as stated by the press release: “THE GIRLS ON THE BUS invites viewers to hit the campaign trail alongside four female journalists, each of them different in their reporting styles and personalities. The story centers on Sadie McCarthy (Melissa Benoist), a journalist who romanticizes a bygone era of campaign reporting and scraps her whole life for a shot at covering a presidential candidate for a paper of record. Sadie joins the bus and eventually bonds with three female competitors, Grace (Carla Gugino), Lola (Natasha Behnam), and Kimberlyn (Christina Elmore). Despite their differences, the women become a found family with a front-row seat to the greatest soap opera in town – the battle for the White House.”

The cast includes Christina Elmore (Twenties, The Wrong Car, Insecure: The End), Carla Gugino (The Fall of the House of Usher, Gerald’s Game, Spy Kids), Melissa Benoist (Supergirl, Whiplash, Glee), Scott Foley (Felicity, Whiskey Cavalier, Scandal), Griffin Dunne (After Hours, An American Werewolf in London, Practical Magic), Natasha Behnam (American Pie Presents: Girls’ Rules, Magic Carpet Rides, Diamond in the Rough), Brandon Scott (Channel Zero: The Dream Door, Bad Match, Dead to Me), and Mark Consuelos (Riverdale, All My Children, Husband for Hire).

The creative team includes Amy Chozick (The Girls on the Bus, House of Cards, The Accidental President) and Julie Plec (Vampire Academy, Legacies, The Originals) who are both the creators and executive producers of the series. The showrunners are Leigh London Redman (Gotham Knights, Dead Boy Detectives, Found), Rina Mimoun (Pushing Daisies, Mistresses, Privileged), Sarah Schechter (Riverdale, You, All American), Greg Berlanti (Love, Simon, Life as We Know It, Everwood) and Marcos Sieg (Chaos Theory, Pretty Persuasion, Underclassman).
