Marvel Studios has officially unveiled its newest series at New York Comic Con. Marvel’s Zodiac is described by Variety as a “spy thriller” and will be released in 2028.
The series is live-action and is set to begin filming next year in the Spring. According to Marvel Television chief Brad Winderbaum, the series is going to begin casting in “the next couple of weeks”. No further details were made available at this time.
Zodiac is the first live-action series to be announced since last year’s Iron Heart. Marvel had seemingly been pulling back from the television genre, with Wonder Man having been canceled after being renewed for a second season. This is despite widespread critical acclaim for the series and even an Emmy nomination for lead actor Yahya Abdul-Mateen II (Aquaman, Candyman) — thus making him the first live-action actor to receive an Emmy nod for both a DC and a Marvel series following his Emmy nomination for his role in HBO’s Watchmen.
It was also recently revealed that Daredevil: Born Again would end with season 3. The series continued Netflix’s Daredevil series and brought back fan-favorite characters and actors like Charlie Cox (Adults, The Defenders) as Matt Murdock and Vincent D’Onofrio (Echo, Hawkeye), who made an emotional statement about the series ending. as Kingpin.
VisionQuest also premieres on October 14 and is set to conclude the television show trilogy that began with WandaVision and continued with Agatha All Along. The series brings back Paul Bettany (Avengers: Age of Ultron, Legion) as Vision, James Spader (The Black List, Boston Legal) as Ultron, and introduces Ruaridh Mollica (Sebastian, Too Rough) as Tommy Maximoff/Thomas Shepherd, Vision’s son with Elizabeth Olson’s (WandaVision, Love & Death) Wanda Maximoff. The series follows Vision as he reunites with Tommy and as he tries to regain his sense of self after having “died” in Avengers: Infinity War and being revived in WandaVision.
