On the night of Saturday, February 4, The voices and creators of Marvel’s Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur celebrated the series’ world premiere at The Walt Disney Studios Lot in Burbank, California. Another highly anticipated television series from Marvel features Lunella Lafayette, an African American Teen Girl SuperHero played by Reggae/Pop singer Diamond White (BOO: A Madea Halloween, Outsiders, The Lion Guard),and her trusty sidekick; a 20 foot Tyrannosaurus Rex dubbed the Devil Dinosaur, played by Fred Tatasciore (Hit Monkey, Kung Fu Panda 3, Hellraiser: Revelations). The unconventional duo will premiere February 10 on Disney Channel and Feb. 15 on Disney+.
According to Disney’s Press Release on the red carpet event, The premiere celebration of Marvel’s Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur had several notable attendees such as the two superhero frontrunners White and Tatasciore as well as supporting/secondary characters voice actors. Including Libe Barer (Parenthood, DuckTales, Among the Beasts) playing Casey, Moon Girl’s confidant and best friend; Gary Anthony Williams (The Boondocks, Malcolm in the Middle, Boston Legal), who voices Pops the patriarch of the story; and Laurence Fishbourne (The Matrix, Apocalypse Now, John Wick) playing the role of The Beyonder, a cosmic entity who has little knowledge or understanding of humanity and is known as a benevolent trickster.
Additional attendees included; executive music producer Raphael Saadiq; executive producer Steve Loter (Kim Possible), recurring and guest cast Michael Cimino (Love, Victor), Ian Alexander (The Last of Us) and Tajinae Turner (Warped!), Marcus Scribner (Black-ish), Yvette Nicole Brown (Community), Ariela Barer (Runaways), Monique Coleman (High School Musical), Scott Porter (Hart of Dixie), Dania Ramirez (Premium Rush), Ever Carradine (The Handmaid’s Tale), Zach McGowan (Shameless), Saniyya Sidney (King Richard), Liyou Abere (Blue’s Clue’s and You) and more.

The event featured a red carpet walkway with New York City-inspired cuisine and atmosphere. Also included were activities based off of the shows storyline, such as a S.T.E.M (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) projects to build your own robot dinosaur and psychical skilled activities like roller skating showing 0ff the brains and the brawn of Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur. Ending the night of was a screening of the premiere pilot episode entitled “Moon Girl Landing” and opening remarks from Meredith Roberts (executive vice president, TV Animation, Disney Branded Television) and series executive producers Fishbourne and Loter

Marvel’s Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur follows the escapades of 13-year-old super-genius Lunella Lafayette and her new pet, A 10-ton T-Rex called Devil Dinosaur. After Lunella mistakenly brings the dinosaur into present-day New York City using her gifted mind and knack for S.T.E.M., the team works together to protect the East Village from peril and some new supervillains.
