The last episode of Loki season two was released on Disney+ last Thursday and brought in 11.2 million worldwide views in the three days following its release. In the figures provided by Disney+, the 11.2 million views over the show’s fifty-eight minute episode, comes out to around 649.6 million minutes of watch time. Via The Hollywood Reporter, the season finale viewing number is up 300,000 from the seasons’ premiere episode.
Season two, which consisted of six episodes, collected a similar number of views each week; over 11 million. According to The Hollywood Reporter, The Mandalorian’s season three finale ranked first on Disney+ among season finales, with Loki placing second. Season one of Loki saw better viewing numbers than at any point during its second season. Via Nielsen, season one’s first two episodes collected an average of 808.5 million viewing minutes from viewers in The United States. Loki season one proved to be a success with it having recorded the best viewing numbers for any Marvel series on the streaming platform.
Presumably among fans, season two of the series could be the final season of the show. Tom Hiddleston (The Night Manager), who plays the God of Mischief, Loki, was the guest Friday on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, where he spoke about his history as Loki. Hiddleston called season two the conclusion to six films, twelve episodes, and fourteen years of his life, which could mean the season finale might be the last viewers will see of Loki in the MCU; although it has not been officially confirmed outside of Hiddleston’s statements on the late night show.
Loki became Marvel’s first original series on Disney+ to have a second season. Other Marvel series available for streaming on Disney+ with just its premiere season include, WandaVision, Hawkeye, Secret Invasion, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Moon Knight, What If…?, which will release its second season in December, and more.
