Marvel Unveils First Look At Charlie Cox’s Return In ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ During 85th Anniversary Celebration

According to Comicbook.com, as part of its 85th anniversary celebration, Marvel Studios has treated fans to an exciting glimpse into the future of one of its most beloved characters. In a newly released video, the studio unveiled the first official footage of Charlie Cox (Stardust, Kin, Echo) reprising his role as Matt Murdock, also known as Daredevil, in the highly anticipated series Daredevil: Born Again. The brief but intense clip shows Cox back in action, bloodied and in combat, a sight that has already sent waves of excitement across social media.

After a multi-year hiatus, Daredevil: Born Again marks Cox’s return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). As mentioned by Comicbook.com, the title of the series plays on both the character’s deep-rooted Catholicism and Cox’s return to the Marvel fold after the cancellation of the original Netflix Daredevil series. Fans who have eagerly awaited the character’s return to the MCU can expect to see the new series on Disney+ in 2025.

Also mentioned by Comicbook.com was that last month, at the D23 Expo, Disney offered a tantalizing hint at what might be in store for the first season of Daredevil: Born Again. The promotional space for the series was adorned with graffiti that many fans believe points to the inclusion of the villain Muse, which could play a significant role in the upcoming series. Muse, a creation of Charles Soule and Ron Garney, debuted in 2016. Despite his short-lived run in the comics, culminating in his death in Daredevil #600, Muse left a lasting impression as a mass murderer who considered himself an artist, using the blood of his victims to create macabre murals.

Fans have fervently lobbied for Cox’s return since Netflix’s Daredevil and the broader Marvel Knights lineup of mature-rated shows were canceled. Their persistence paid off when Cox made a brief cameo as Matt Murdock in Spider-Man: No Way Home, where he appeared as Peter Parker’s lawyer after the young hero’s identity was exposed. Though he didn’t suit up as Daredevil in that appearance, the cameo sparked hope that his return as the Devil of Hell’s Kitchen was imminent.

According to Comicbook.com, in Daredevil: Born Again, Cox will be joined by a stellar cast that includes Vincent D’Onofrio (Law And Order: Criminal Intent, Echo, Men In Black), who will reprise his role as Wilson Fisk, also known as Kingpin, and Jon Bernthal (The Bear, The Punisher, Fury), who will return as Frank Castle, better known as the Punisher. Other returning cast members include Wilson Bethel (All Rise, Hart Of Dixie, Doors) as Bullseye, Deborah Ann Woll (True Blood, Escape Room, The Defenders) as Karen Page and Elden Henson (The Mighty, Idle Hands, The Mighty Ducks) as Foggy Nelson.

As fans eagerly await more details, the first look at Daredevil: Born Again serves as a promising preview of what’s to come. With Cox back in the role and a talented ensemble cast, the series is shaping up to be a must-watch event for Marvel fans when it finally debuts on Disney+ in 2025.
