According to ScreenRant, recently Marvel director Mohamed Diab (Clash) has given disappointing update to season two of Moon Knight. The Marvel series followed the story of Marc Spector, played by Oscar Isaac (Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse). The series premiered on Disney+ in 2022 and left many fans wondering when season two would be announced. Diab recently spoke with Arabic Marvel to express more information about the Marvel creation process as well as his hopes for a second installment of Moon Knight.
According to ScreenRant, Diab said, “Loki is the only series Marvel said will be in two parts.” This states that a second season for the anti-hero was never intended by Marvel Studios.
He continued, ‘’Marvel had determined it from the first day. Marvel’s series projects are all six episodes except for special projects like WandaVision. The usual format is six episodes. Loki is the only series they said will be in two parts from the first day. Marvel’s way is not the usual way where if the project succeeds, I say let’s renew it for a second season. It’s their plan, successful or not, they have a plan.’’
Moon Knight is a series part of the MCU and is part of phase four. The series follows mercenary Marc Spector who shares his body with Steven Grant and Jake Lockley, split personalities brought on by his dissociative identity disorder. They investigate and bring judgment onto the ones who deserve it by following the word of Khonshu, the Egyptian god of the moon and vengeance. Other than Isaac the series cast includes Ethan Hawke (Training Day), May Calamawy (Ramy), Ann Akinjirin (I May Destroy You), F. Murray Abraham (The Grand Budapest Hotel), Karim El Hakim (As I Want), Michael Benjamin Hernandez (Big gold Brick), and many more.
Moon Knight season one is available to stream on Disney+.
