Michael Gandolfini, known for his role as Tony Soprano in The Sopranos prequel film The Many Saints of Newark, is set to star in the upcoming Marvel series Daredevil: Born Again, and is confirmed to revive “major role,” according to Comicbook.
The series follows Marvel character and hero Matt Murdock, played by Charlie Cox (The Theory of Everything, Daredevil), and better known as his superhero alias Daredevil. The plot of the series has been kept under wraps. Charlie Cox previously starred as Daredevil in the Netflix original series Daredevil, which follows Matt as he worked as blind lawyer by day, vigilante by night, fighting the crime of New York as Daredevil. However, Daredevil: Born Again is not a continuation of Daredevil, but rather a soft reboot with its own separate storyline, according to Screen Rant.
Daredevil: Born Again is also set to star Vincent D’Onofrio, known for his role as Kingpin Wilson Fisk in the Netflix original Daredevil series, as well as his roles in Men In Black, Jurassic World, and The Cell. The series’ executive producers include Matt Corman (Covert Affairs, The Brave) and Chris Ord (Covert Affairs, Containment).
Daredevil: Born Again is set to release in 2024 on Disney+.
