Marvel and Disney+’s Series ‘WandaVision’ to Reportedly Resume Production in July

The upcoming Marvel comic book television series WandaVision set to air on Disney+ is reportedly starting to resume filming in July, according to Screen Rant. This report comes in week where the impending series also announced the addition of the American Horror Story mainstay Evan Peters to the superhero show’s cast in an undisclosed role. This series adds to the list of co-production projects between Marvel Studios and Disney+ with other series such as The Falcon and The Winter Soldier and Loki. However, due to the on-going COVID-19 pandemic, film and television production has halted across the world with The Falcon and The Winter Soldier canceling its shoot in Prague.

Regardless, the report that the series will resume production is based on one of its stars’ Paul Bettany (Iron Man) and his representation has canceled his appearance at the July Tampa Bay Comic Convention due to a filming conflict for the comic book show. WandaVision will follow the events following Avengers: Endgame with its focus on two characters in its Marvel Cinematic Universe in Elizabeth Olsen’s (Wind River) Wanda, or Scarlet Witch, and Bettany’s Vision characters. Additionally, the show will include Randall Park (The Interview, Fresh Off the Boat), Kat Dennings (2 Broke Girls), and Teyonah Parris (Mad Men).

Currently, WandaVision will be airing its first season on its streaming platform in 2021 after the series’ initial intended December 2020 release. Yet, due to the uncertainty around the show’s date of production completion, there is not an exact release date attached to the superhero program. Furthermore, interested comic book fans can subscribe to Disney+ for $6.99 per month in order to catch the release of these upcoming Marvel shows.
