Marvel and Disney+’s ‘Secret Invasion’ To Begin Filming in Spring

Announced at the 2020 Disney Investor Day, Secret Invasion will join the ranks as one of the many Marvel Studios television series coming to Disney+ in the coming years. According to Screen Rant, the comic book series will start its production process and begin filming in April 2021 for its upcoming first season. Overseen by head writer Kyle Bradstreet (Mr. Robot), the first season will film its six-episode run in the coming months. Currently, the series does not possess an expected premiere date, but will follow the 2022 releases of Moon Knight, She-Hulk, and The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special

Secret Invasion will center around the alien species of the Skrulls who have invaded Earth and have taken up roles of power and other facets of society in disguise. Due to this, Nick Fury will lead a mission against these aliens to uncover true identities and out the individuals infiltrating the landscape of the planet. Samuel L. Jackson (Pulp Fiction) will reprise his Marvel Cinematic Role as Fury in addition to Ben Mendelsohn (Bloodline) also reprising his role as the non-shapeshifting Skrull, Talos.

The filming for its first season is expected to be April 5, yet this expected filming date is reliant on individuals of the cast and crew following COVID-19 protocols and preventing any halts or stoppages of production. Secret Invasion’s April production will once more follow Moon Knight and She-Hulk which is also aimed to begin its production process in March 2021.
