Hard work paid off for Hargitay as she recieved a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame for portraying Det. Olivia Benson on Law & Order: SVU.
According to E!, Hargitay recieved a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame after 14 years of portraying Det. Benson on Law & Order: SVU. Hargitay will have a place in Hollywood forever, sitting next to her mother’s star, actress Jayne Mansfield.
“I am so moved by you and so grateful to all of you and you’re what, as I said, makes today possible,” Hargitay said.
Dick Wolf (Law & Order creator), and Hillary Swank joined Hargitay as she received this honor and spoke words of praise.
Hargitay’s character helps victims of sexual abuse. She launched the Joyful Heart Foundation in 2004, a program that helps victims of sexual abuse and trauma.
