TNT’s Major Crimes is coming back on Monday, June 9 and fans have all of Sunday, June 8 to catch up with a 19-hour marathon of season two.
Major Crimes as voted one of the Top 10 Cable Dramas and viewers have a chance to relive the second season beginning at 2 am (ET/PT) on Sunday, June 8. The marathon leads right up to the season three premiere.
Major Crimes stars Mary McDonnell, G.W. Bailey, Tony Denison, Michael Paul Chan, Raymond Cruz, Phillip P. Keene, Kearran Giovanni, Graham Patrick Martin and Jonathan Del Arco, with Robert Gossett. It centers on the justice system and its law enforcement officers and prosecutors work a deal together to get the conviction.
Head of the special squad is Los Angeles Police Captain Sharon Raydor (McDonnell) and how she must deal with high profile and sensitive crimes. The investigative team includes Lieutenant Provenza (Bailey), Lieutenant Andy Flynn (Denison), Lieutenant Mike Tao (Chan), Detective Julio Sanchez (Cruz), Detective Amy Sykes (Giovanni), medical examiner Dr. Morales (Del Arco) and tech expert Buzz Watson (Keene). Captain Raydor’s boss is Chief Russel Taylor (Gossett). Raydor has also taken in a formerly homeless teen Rusty Beck (Martin).
The third season will bring new cases including a missing father and his two children, a rap trial defendant’s death and a difficult case involving arranged marriages and diplomatic immunity. Sanchez will also have an old case resurface regarding a man he arrested who might be innocent after all. One case will involve solving the murder of a dog at a ritzy estate. Raydor will also have to help Rusty as he tries to put the past behind him but his life is uprooted once more when a biological family member returns and tries shaking things up.
There are guest appearances from Jon Tenney, Tom Berenger, Bill Brochtrup and Malcolm-Jamal Warner. There are also recurring guest stars including Ransford Doherty, Kathe Mazur, Andrew Daly and Azita Ghanizada. Doherty, Mazur and Daly were previously on or guest starred on The Closer.
The Shephard/Robin Comany and Walking Entropy, Inc produce Major Crimes. Executive producers are Duff, Greer Shehard, Michael M. Robin, Rick Wallace, Adam Belanoff and Leo Geter.
