With her tweet, Williams stated that the original interview that the faux release date came from was more than a year old. She went on to call the April 2019 premiere date “completely false”.

Game of Thrones creators and showrunners David Benioff and Dan Weiss have chosen the best filmmakers who have worked on the show before for their final episodes, ensuring that each part of the final season is top-notch.
Directors David Nutter (responsible for some of the show’s most memorable episodes like “Rains of Castamere” and “The Dance of Dragons”) and Miguel Sapochnik ( “Hardhome” and “Battle of the Bastards”) will be directors for the season as well as David Benioff and Dan Weiss themselves.
When asked how she would like her character Arya’s storyline to wrap up, Williams mused, “I’ve always said I wanted her to find peace. The things that have been driving her through her story have been very bitter and twisted and aggressive. I would love for Arya to find her true self again and let go of this anger and revenge that’s accompanied her on this journey. I’d love for her to be happy.” Considering all the events the Starks have gone through, fans would likely agree with Williams.
